Quilts by Barb

2009 Quilt Retreat Getaway Weekend - 7 years and counting.......

2009 was the first year we held our quilt retreat in a hotel.  We moved to The Baymont Inn and Suites Convention Center in Belmont, Wisconsin.  We will be hosting the retreat in the same location in 2010.

This is just a brief look at some of the highlights from the retreat.  Kim Lapacek has loaded more pictures at Quilts by Barb - News from Barb.  Be sure to check them out.

In 2009 we worked from Wendy Hill's book, Easy Bias-Covered Curves.  Many were leery of the book - very different type of projects than previous years - but many loved it and the variety of quilts created using Wendy's technique.

Here are a few of the "Work in Progress" from 2009.  See more pictures at Quiltsbybarb - News from Barb

                               mystery quilt projects

We also worked on "Mystery Quilts."  Some in progress, some almost completed.

our mini project - designed and taught by Tisha Sandberg

Tisha (pictured at right) lead the group in a project that made curves easy.  Many of the table runners or wall hangings were made from hand dyed fabric from Quilts by Barb.

show and tell and the yard that keeps on going...........

This is my favorite part of Show and Tell.  See more pictures of Show and Tell at Quilts by Barb - News from Barb.
