1. Materials needed:
a. ¾ yard of main fabric
b. 9” of border for top of pillow case
c. 1” - 4” for an accent trim piece (optional)
2. Lay 9” piece of fabric flat, right side up.
3. Press accent trim piece in half long way, wrong sides together. Accent piece may be omitted and decorative stitch used instead. See below.
4. Lay accent piece on top of 9” piece matching raw edges. Ignore if using decorative stitching.
5. Lay large piece of fabric on top of trim piece so rights sides are together with 9” piece. Pin along edge to hold all together.
6. Roll long piece of fabric, making it shorter than casing.
7. Wrap casing over the rolled fabric and line up the bottom raw edge of the casing with the other raw edges. Pin
8. Sew a seam along the raw edges.
9. Pull the large piece of fabric out one end of the tube, turning the tube right side out.
10. Press all flat. Optional - Sew with a decorative stitch along edge of trim piece. Trim edges even, removing selvages.
11. Sew WRONG SIDES TOGETHER along the side and bottom of pillow case using ¼” seam. Turn inside out and press seam to one side.
12. Sew right sides together on the same two seams using a 5/8” seam. This will encase all raw edges. Turn pillow case right side out, press and enjoy!!
